Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Mayre Martinez is a singer, songwriter and actress, with a venezuelan father and cuban mother. This is her biography.
Mayre leapt to fame as the winner of the first season of Latin American Idol.
Mayre has won important awards, such as ASCAP Awards and the Orquídea al Mérito (The Orchid of Merit), a once-in-a-lifetime recognition donned by one of Latin America’s most important musical TV shows.
“Vivir Sin Ti” her first spanish language song to earn an International ASCAP Award.
Mayre has released two albums and one EP.
Her first commercial production “Soy Mi Destino”, was distributed by Sony BMG México, and included videos of her performances on Latin American Idol (SETLA).
Afterwards, under her independant label and production company, Mayre released her second album “La Reina de la Noche”. Her songs gained exposure as the main themes on soundtracks to popular telenovelas on Telemundo.
Her acoustic EP “My Black & Blanco” is her latest musical production. Mayre Martinez Productions released the album on November 4th, 2015.
This multi-talented artist and businesswoman has appeared on the covers of over 20 magazines in Venezuela, Latin America and the US. She has appeared on some of North and South America’s top TV shows for the latin community.
The Mayre Martinez Singing Method has been taught around the world for over 18 years. Mayre also wrote a column for a couple of years called “Singing Secrets (Secretos del Canto)” for the international print magazine “Conexiones”, which lives on today as her blog at www.elartedecantar.com.
